Program Summary

The Department of Engineering Science has a substantial research portfolio, including much that is directly supported by industry. In the Department, there are no barriers between the different branches of engineering, and we are involved in a great deal of multi-disciplinary research collaborating with groups in other departments from Archaeology to Zoology.

We have multiple groups involved in various aspects of physical acoustics, ultrasonics, photo-acoustics, and biomedical ultrasonics, with the latter largely focused on the use of ultrasound for targeted drug delivery.

Incoming graduate students will be paired with an advisor upon acceptance. Prospective students should review the research of professors they would be interested in working with, and contact them directly.

A Short List of Relevant Professors and Senior Researchers:
- Constantin Coussios, Professor of Biomedical Engineering
- Robin O. Cleveland, Professor of Engineering Science
- Eleanor Stride, Professor of Engineering Science
