The College of Engineering at the University of Hartford offers two unique ways to incorporate ACOUSTICS into an undergraduate engineering degree program. Note that both of our acoustical engineering programs are fully accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). This ABET-accredited program focuses on the application of modern engineering design to the field of acoustics in such areas as architectural design, loudspeaker & audio equipment design, musical instrument design, environmental noise regulations, noise and vibration control of machines, bioengineering of hearing aids, and sound quality.
Funding is available from the Acoustical Society of America through a program of fellowships, scholarships, prizes, grants, and student and young professional awards.
There are also funding opportunities that are offered in connection with meetings of the Society including Student Travel Grants, Best Paper Awards for Students and Young Presenters, Young Investigator Travel Grants and Dependent Care Subsidies.
The Committee on International Research and Education oversees the International Student Grants program as well as sponsorship of Specialty Symposia in Acoustics.
