Architectural Engineering (AE) is a discipline of study that is only currently available at less than 25 schools across the United States, and even fewer of these AE programs include acoustics as a main option in their curricula. The Durham School's AE program at the University of Nebraska was founded in 1998. Students may study acoustics within any of our four engineering degree programs (BSAE, MAE, MS and PhD). Currently there are two AE faculty out of 11 who focus in acoustics at Nebraska, and the program regularly offers at least six recurring acoustics courses. Visit www.nebraskaacousticsgroup.org for more information.
Funding is available from the Acoustical Society of America through a program of fellowships, scholarships, prizes, grants, and student and young professional awards.
There are also funding opportunities that are offered in connection with meetings of the Society including Student Travel Grants, Best Paper Awards for Students and Young Presenters, Young Investigator Travel Grants and Dependent Care Subsidies.
The Committee on International Research and Education oversees the International Student Grants program as well as sponsorship of Specialty Symposia in Acoustics.
