Program Summary

Our MEng Acoustical Engineering programme is a four-year undergraduate degree covering all the fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering with specialist options in all the major areas of acoustics and vibration, and is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Years 1-3 can also be taken as a BEng degree.

Our MSc Acoustical Engineering programme (formerly MSc Sound & Vibration Studies) is a one-year postgraduate taught course for students with a good first degree in a STEM subject. It consists of two semesters of taught modules followed by a Resaerch Project individually supervised by one of our academic staff.

These programmes are taught at an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research into sound, vibration and hearing. Student satisfaction is excellent and our graduates are in high demand from employers in every sector of acoustics.
